Our Story

As a community bank, we’re centered on caring for our customers and our communities

We stand by our motto: Live Well, Bank Well

As we’ve grown from one branch in Perryville to more than 30 branches across the state, our mission remains: We provide financial empowerment and make a difference in the lives of our customers. We’re small enough to foster relationships, yet big enough to meet nearly any financial need.

Digital solutions to bank anywhere
A trusted business partner
Here to guide you to financial wellness

Neighbors helping neighbors

That's the way things get done in Missouri. That's the way our bank began. And that's the mindset that continues to guide us today.

Back in 1891, a group of Perryville neighbors saw the need for a local bank that would put local needs first. (This now seems like common sense, but at the time bigger banks tended to focus their attention on the nation's wealthy.)

We started small, operating out of a single branch for more than 100 years. We served the needs of everyday folks, helping them to achieve their financial goals.

As time passed, we came to think that more was possible. That's why we changed our name from The Bank of Perryville to The Bank of Missouri. It's why we expanded into Cape Girardeau in 1997. And it's why we've spread our wings in recent decades, expanding into the four regions of the state.

Today, we operate 30 branches and four digital branches. Today, we offer all sorts of 21st-century financial products and electronic banking tools. Though our reach and our services have grown since those early days in Perryville, we remain a community bank at heart.

We still view our customers as our neighbors. We're still small enough to get to know them and walk alongside them through life’s changes and challenges. But we're now large enough to meet nearly any financial need.

Our Vision

We provide an omni-channel customer experience, reaching every customer in the manner they choose to bank. We promote financial empowerment in every product and service as a financial institution that provides trusted value to every relationship. Live Well, Bank Well.

We strive to help communities, businesses, and people thrive and prosper through an integrated and cohesive customer experience which provides financial empowerment and trusted expertise.

We work to do more than just offer a great banking product or service. We're solution providers who help our customers achieve financial success. A secure financial future is the start to a better life and when you really get down to it, this is why we open our doors each and every day. Live Well, Bank Well.

Our Mission

The Bank of Missouri is:

  • PROVIDING value to our shareholders
  • GIVING to the communities we serve, through our resources and associates
  • STRIVING to provide financial solutions that meet the needs of those communities
  • SEEKING to expand our communities

Community Giving

We’re a community bank. Therefore, we are active in our communities we serve. In fact, The Bank of Missouri is a leader in the communities we serve.

Here’s how we look at it: Our bank has been fortunate to achieve many community awards over the years, and we know our communities are what makes that possible. So, we believe in giving back and showing our appreciation.

We support many civic and community groups, both through monetary donations and volunteer hours from our own team members. Across Missouri, we support more than 300 different organizations through employee involvement, effort, time, and desire.

As a community bank that’s been around since 1891, we recognize the connection between community involvement and the role we play in the neighborhoods where we do business.

The strength of a community bank is directly related to the strength of its community.
